Native Hoosier Will Shortz has always had a passion for puzzles. At IU, faculty gave him the power to turn this love into a college degree through the Individualized Major Program. Shortz is the only person to hold a college degree in enigmatology, the study of puzzles. This expertise has enabled him to become the crossword puzzle editor for the New York Times, to write and edit more than 100 books, and to found the World Puzzle Championship. Shortz currently works for the New York Times from home in Pleasantville, New York, where he is able to avidly play table tennis, another passion of his.
